It was wonderful to visit the residents of Willowdale Retirement Village for their recent Winter Warmer Craft Sale and see the incredible creativity and community spirit on display. The sale featured a fantastic range of handmade items, from knitted scarves, blankets and headbands to baby clothes and cosy winter essentials. Residents also showcased their craftsmanship through beautifully made wooden bowls, trinkets and other handcrafted pieces created in village workshops. I was lucky enough to pick up a scarf and blanket to help get me through the colder months, although with so many quality items available, choosing what to take home was no easy task. I may need to come better prepared with a fuller wallet next time. Beyond the wonderful products, what stood out most was the time, care and dedication that residents had invested in every item. Their efforts not only bring people together but help create a connected community that gives back to others. I thank everyone involved for their hard work and generosity.
