I would like to recognise the Willowdale Cricket Club Junior Presentation Awards Ceremony, held on Saturday, 13 June 2026, and congratulate the club on another outstanding season. I was pleased to attend the club's second annual junior presentation ceremony and join players, parents, volunteers and sponsors in celebrating the achievements of its young cricketers. The event was a fitting opportunity to acknowledge not only individual accomplishments but also the remarkable growth of the club. The 2025-26 season was a milestone year for Willowdale Cricket Club. The club expanded from three junior teams in its first season to ten teams across the Under 9 to Under 16 age groups, while junior registrations grew from 32 to 112 participants. Seven teams qualified for the semi-finals, and the Under 10 Blue team made club history by becoming the first junior side to win a premiership. The club also achieved recognition beyond the local competition, with Willowdale girls selected as flag bearers for the Australia versus India Women's match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. I congratulate the players, coaches, volunteers, parents and sponsors whose dedication continues to make Willowdale Cricket Club a tremendous success both on and off the field.
