In November last year, I was pleased to attend the Australian Relief Organisation's Walk & Ride for Water event held at Amity College Prestons. Across Africa and Asia, millions of children walk up to six kilometres every day to collect unsafe water, often contaminated and life‑threatening. This daily struggle can significantly impact their education and weighs heavily on families. This event, run by my local community, aimed to raise awareness and funds for building sustainable 10 water wells in these regions, providing clean water to families and children. Participants demonstrated their support by walking a 5k route, or riding 10-70km starting and finishing at Amity College. It was truly remarkable to see so many members of my electorate get behind such a worthy initiative. It was a day was filled with community involvement, across all ages. Thank you to Amity College for hosting the event, and for all who attended, it was through your participation that this event was made possible.
