I had the privilege of attending the end-of-year Stand with Palestine gala hosted by Palestinian Christians in Australia in Liverpool on 14 November. It was a night to honour culture, celebrate heritage and stand with those doing it tough, both here and overseas. Since November 2023, Palestinian Christians in Australia has raised over $848,000 to support more than 100 Palestinian families, Christian and Muslim alike, as they begin new lives in Australia. That support goes beyond emergency aid. It is about securing housing, finding work, looking after mental health, and keeping culture and faith alive. With more families set to arrive from Gaza, sheltering right now in churches under siege, the work continues and so must our support. I thank Palestinian Christians in Australia for everything it does to lead with heart, compassion and an unwavering commitment to justice.
