St Zaia Assyrian School Graduation Ceremony

11 February 2026

I had the honour of attending the graduation ceremony for St Zaia Assyrian School on 8 December, a special occasion that celebrated both student achievement and the continued growth of the school community. It was inspiring to see the pride on display as students marked an important milestone in their learning journey, supported by families, teachers, and community leaders. Language schools play a vital role in our communities. They help young people stay connected to their culture, heritage, and identity while strengthening confidence, belonging, and academic development. By nurturing language skills alongside values and tradition, these schools support well-rounded education and help ensure cultural knowledge is passed on to future generations. I congratulate all graduating students on their hard work, and acknowledge the commitment of those who guide them along the way. My sincere thanks to Father Naisan, the St Zaia Assyrian Church, and the wider school community for welcoming me and allowing me to share in such a meaningful celebration.
