On 29 June, I had the pleasure of joining the celebrations for the Feast Day of St. Thomas the Apostle, a deeply significant occasion for the Chaldean Catholic community. For many in this community, who have faced great challenges and built new lives here in Australia, this day is about more than faith. It's a celebration of culture, resilience, and the strong sense of belonging they've created together. And what a celebration it was – filled with joy, energy, and connection. From kids' rides and live music to food trucks and the sound of laughter echoing through the grounds, it was a wonderful reflection of community spirit. A big thank you to His Grace Mar Amel Nona, Dean Steven Azabo, and all the volunteers, families, and organisers whose dedication made the day so special. Events like this are built on hard work, faith, and unity — and it all came together beautifully.
