It was an honour to attend the St Rafqa parish gala fundraiser on 8 November, with special guest His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay in attendance. This annual event has become a cherished gathering for the Maronite community, as it brings people together in support of the church and its fabulous work. Seeing so many members of the community come together with such generosity and dedication to support the church and its initiatives was truly heartening. It was a privilege to witness firsthand the immense pride and love the parishioners have for their faith and heritage. Conversations ranged from the church's vision for growth to improving the lives of those in need. I thank everyone involved in organising such a memorable evening filled with music, food, dance and performances. I give a special thank you to Father Sarkis, Father Joe and Father Boutros for their dedication to parishioners and their important work in overseeing the project to build the new St Rafqa. St Rafqa is doing truly incredible work for its community.
