St Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish

16 September 2025

Sixty years is no small milestone, and it deserves to be recognised and celebrated. St Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish in Austral has stood for six decades as a place of faith, service and belonging for countless families. While I was not able to attend the anniversary dinner on 29 August, I take this opportunity to acknowledge the extraordinary history and contribution of the parish. From its early years as part of the Penrith parish through to its formal establishment in 1965, St Anthony's has been more than just a church. It has been a gathering place, support network and foundation of community life. Generations have been welcomed, guided and cared for by dedicated leaders, from Reverend Michael Nelan and Reverend Thomas Kerr to Reverend James Page and, now, the amazing Father Ronnie. I congratulate the parish and all who call it home on 60 long years. May the next 60 bring continued strength, compassion and community.
