The Southern Districts Raiders Girls Youth under‑16s team has done Western Sydney proud, finishing runners-up on the international stage at the prestigious Borneo Cup. After a gruelling semi-final that stretched into sudden-death penalties, the young athletes showed nerves of steel, talent beyond their years and teamwork that sets true champions apart. This is no small feat. The Borneo Cup is a highly respected international youth tournament that was established in 2008, capped at just 10 teams per category and endorsed by the Football Association of Malaysia. To place second among elite competition from across the region is a testament to the Raiders' skill, grit and unity on the field. Behind every great team is a group of dedicated coaches, volunteers, mums and dads, who shape potential into performance, and this squad's journey reflects just that.
