Last Saturday the South West Goannas women's team was victorious in the grand final, taking home the 2024 Macarthur Women's Blues Tag title. The team's dedication, teamwork and never-give-up attitude were on full display as they fought their way to victory against Moorebank 36‑12. The Goannas proved that they are by far the best ladies league team in the Macarthur rugby league conference after an undefeated season. I give a shout-out to Sienna Grady, who bagged four tries in the final. It is a massive achievement. I say a huge congratulations to coach Mitchell Bru and all players, officials and fans who made the season such a success. I stopped by to congratulate the team in person at the after‑match celebrations, which were well under way by the time I arrived. Here's to many more premierships—and many more afterparties—and the continued rise of women's rugby league in our region. Up the Gahs!
