On Friday the 8th of August, I had the pleasure of attending the opening night of the 37th Serbian Folkloric Festival at Bonnyrigg Sports Club. This three day event by the Serbian Community, it was nothing short of a display of happiness and laughter radiating from everyone. I would like to thank Bonnyrigg Sports Club for their dedication and efforts, that they have put in to create a memorable and enjoyable weekend for all the families and friends. Having the opportunity to see the pride and extensive turn out by the Serbian community, was nothing but remarkable. Everyone waving the Serbian flag, singing and dancing with their hearts, eating ćevapi rolls with a Knjaz miloš on the side. During the open night, it was great to see the younger generation proudly performing traditional folkloric dances. This is an event I will always look forward to attending, as it is a privilege to be a part of an atmosphere and culture so big and proud.
