On 23 March, I attended the annual Ramadan Eid Bazaar held at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool—an event that brought together many to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Organised by Multicultural Festivals Australia under the leadership of the amazing Sashi Lal, this festival has been a cornerstone of the community for 16 years. With food stalls, cultural performances, shopping, and family-friendly entertainment, the bazaar offered something for everyone. Beyond the festivities, it fosters a strong sense of unity, pride, and belonging among the Muslim community and the wider public. Events like these are vital for cultural connection, promoting inclusivity and understanding across backgrounds. The atmosphere remained lively well into the night, creating lasting memories for all who attended. With past attendance exceeding 10,000, the event continues to grow as a joyful, meaningful celebration for the entire community.
