Ram Krishna Temple in Austral has long been and continues to be a centre of Hindu celebration in my community. I would like to recognise two recent events held at the temple: I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ram Krishna Temple in Austral for welcoming Premier Chris Minns and myself for Maha Shivaratri celebrations on 8 March. We were blessed to observe special rituals, blessings, prayer and meditation. It is believed that observing the day with sincerity and devotion leads to the attainment of self-realisation and spiritual enlightenment. I was also fortunate to be in attendance at the Temple again on 24th March for the most joyous occasion of Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, involving festive activities like throwing coloured powders, singing, dancing, and delicious food. It is always an honour to partake in this celebration with our Hindu community.
