I recently attended the Prestons Robins Little Athletics presentation day. It was wonderful to join them to celebrate a fantastic season, complete with a classic sausage sizzle and plenty of community spirit. It was a real highlight to present representative gear to the 11 to 17 age group in particular, some of whom represented their club at the highest level. These young competitors achieved impressive results at the New South Wales regional championships, with several bringing home medals, while others went on to qualify for and compete at the NSW Athletics junior championships and the Little Athletics State championships. Moments like these remind us just how promising the future of athletics is, with so many young people showing dedication, discipline and a genuine love for sport across a whole range of disciplines. I congratulate all the athletes on their hard work throughout the season and thank the parents, volunteers and supporters. I wish them good luck next year.
