Perich Centre for Robotics and Health Technology

18 September 2025

Though beyond my electorate's borders, the opening of the Perich Centre for Robotics and Health Technology on 4 September in Liverpool marks an extraordinary step forward not only for that area but for the Leppington electorate, Western Sydney and the future of health care. Co-located at Liverpool Hospital and the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research, this world-class facility will be home to more than 60 clinical scientists pushing the boundaries of robotics, medical AI, digital health and remote care. Their work will not only transform the way we treat disease and deliver health services but also shape the pathways for our future engineers, doctors, nurses and health leaders. The projects housed there will range from rehabilitation robotics to wearable devices in women's health, from AI in cancer and cardiology to immersive training environments. Backed by the Minns Labor Government, through the Medical Research Support Program, and the Perich family, the centre stands as a powerful investment in knowledge, creativity and human potential. It is a place where research will translate into real-world care and will save lives for many years to come.
