Men's Health Forum

23 September 2026

On 31 August, I attended the South-West Sydney Men's Health Forum, hosted by Senator Tony Sheldon at Mounties Club. The forum brought our community together for an important conversation about men's health and wellbeing, with a focus on mental health, chronic disease, social isolation and encouraging men to seek help when they need it. The panel included Assistant Minister Ged Kearney MP and Special Envoy for Men's Health Dan Repacholi MP, alongside health professionals and community leaders who are instrumental in promoting better men's health and wellbeing across our community. For many men, conversations about their physical and mental health can be difficult. Too often, men put off asking for help or simply try to deal with problems on their own. Forums like this are about changing that culture and making it okay to speak openly, ask for help and look out for your mates. The forum also connected local men directly with organisations providing support across mental health, prostate cancer, diabetes, gambling harm, social isolation and other health issues. I thank Senator Sheldon for hosting the forum, along with the panellists, service providers and community organisations who contributed to an important conversation for men across South-West Sydney.
