It was an honour to attend the Award Ceremony of the International Literary Competition on the 9th of November at Club Marconi. The competition is held by Marco Polo, The Italian School of Sydney in honour of the life of the renowned explorer. The Italian Government declared 2024 the year of the Italian Roots in the world and in light of this, the competition was titled "The Return of Marco Polo: Travels, Memories and Adventures to the Italian Roots." Many esteemed guests including the Consul General of Italy were in attendance and it was a privilege to witness the incredible talent of all the participants. Congratulations to the winners, Antonio, Duska and Elga who wrote thought provoking and emotional pieces that recognise the life of Italian migrants and celebrate their rich cultural lineage.
