On 16 December, I had the pleasure of attending the Liverpool SES final muster for the year. It was a moment to reflect, to celebrate, and to say thank you. This extraordinary team of skilled and committed volunteers are often the first to arrive in our moments of greatest need. Whether it's storms, floods, or major emergencies, they respond with courage, precision, and an unshakable sense of duty. Their work is not only vital, it saves lives and keeps our communities safe. The night recognised the dedication behind the uniform. Over 4,000 hours were spent on formal training this year alone, not including the countless hours in maintenance or upskilling. A remarkable 155 members took part in internal courses, strengthening the team's capability to protect the community. To the Liverpool SES: thank you for always stepping forward, putting others first, and being the steady hand in times of crisis. Your impact is deeply felt and appreciated.
