Liverpool Historical Society

01 August 2023

On 27 may I attended the launch of Building Liverpool Exhibition, hosted by the City of Liverpool and District Historical Society at Liverpool Library. The Exhibition tells the story of the building of the Liverpool. It starts with the origins of Liverpool as a convict built town lead by Thomas Moore, through to the building of contemporary housing in Liverpool's suburbs by local builders such as Masterton Homes, and more recently the 32 storey high-rise apartments that now tower the skyline. It was a fantastic exhibition as always, but sadly will be the last at the prestigious Harvard Room. I also had the pleasure of bequeathing some important historical artefacts to their Society's collection. I handed over a recent campaign shirt, and some corflutes to their vast collection which documents decades of Liverpool political history across all three levels of government. Thank you to Glenn Op Den Brouw, President of Liverpool historical Society, for inviting me and continuing your work in preserving the great history of Liverpool.
