On Saturday 29 April I had the pleasure of attending the 2023 official season opener for the Liverpool City Netball Association [LCNA]. The enthusiasm for the new season was evident at Woodward Park from the opening whistle, despite the rain. While play was unfortunately called off later in the day due to extreme weather, the enthusiasm of the players, coaches and staff was telling. I personally thank president Rebecca Wakefield, secretary Melissa King and treasurer Anna Milanovic for their hospitality on the day. Of course, the season is not possible without the sponsors, volunteers and many clubs that make the competition what it is. The LCNA includes 13 clubs, including several in my electorate of Leppington, and 1,470 registered members. I thank them for having me and wish all the teams good luck for the season ahead.
