I congratulate Lea De Angelis, who this year finishes up as principal of St Anthony of Padua Catholic College in Austral after a career spanning four decades. Lea has worked across the Parramatta and Sydney dioceses, including stints as principal of All Hallows Catholic Primary School in Five Dock and of St Luke's Catholic Primary School in Revesby. However, her eight years as the inaugural principal of St Anthony of Padua will cement her legacy in Catholic education. Opening in the 2017 school year with an initial enrolment of 42 kindergarten students, the school has experienced massive growth and success under Lea's stewardship. Earlier this year, the school completed a significant program of works that included four new learning buildings, sporting facilities and car parks. The upgrades will enable the school's capacity grow to more than 2,000 students when its first cohort of year 12 students begin the 2026 school year. Guided by St Anthony's principles of service and welcome, Lea has ensured St Anthony's has quickly made its mark as one of the leading schools in the Leppington electorate. I wish her all the best.
