In July I had the honour of joining the Kemps Creek United Soccer Club for its fiftieth anniversary celebrations. Founded in 1976, the club has grown into a much-loved hub for football enthusiasts, nurturing talented athletes both on and off the field. It has had many outstanding seasons and this one is no different, with its under 14s division 2 boys and under 14s division 2 girls recently being crowned grand final champions. I also congratulate the under 15s boys and league 13 division 7 boys who also celebrated grand final wins. The season is undoubtedly a testament to their fantastic teamwork, skills and determination, which have been evident for five decades. It was a wonderful night. Plenty of other clubs from the district were there, and of course the district itself. We were treated to a wonderful speech from one of the original founders of the club, and we got to learn some of the history. It was a fantastic night. I congratulate president Ross Maiorana and all the guys at the club.
