It was a pleasure to attend the 2026 Australia Day celebration and HSC Students and University Graduates Awards presentation, recognising outstanding young people who have worked hard to achieve academic success. The event, organised every year by the Iraqi Australian University Graduates Forum in collaboration with the Association of Iraqi Academics in Australia and New Zealand, highlights the importance of education, perseverance and community support. The students and graduates represent the next generation of leaders, professionals and contributors to our society. Their achievements reflect not only personal dedication but also the encouragement of families and communities who value learning and opportunity. Events like this provide an important space for connection, recognition and inspiration, reminding young people that their efforts are seen and celebrated. I congratulate everyone from the Iraqi Australian University Graduates Forum, especially Dr Bushra, for continuing to uplift our young achievers.
