I would like to acknowledge the retirement of Gunnar Hardy, whose dedicated service with the NSW State Emergency Service came to an end on 1 June 2026. Throughout his career, Gunnar has made an outstanding contribution to emergency management and community safety, working tirelessly to support people during some of their most challenging moments. As a first responder, he has played a vital role in helping communities prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies, providing leadership, expertise and reassurance when it was needed most. Beyond his operational responsibilities, Gunnar has built strong partnerships across government, emergency services and community organisations, helping strengthen local resilience and improve outcomes for residents during times of crisis. While he is retiring from the NSW SES, it is reassuring to know that Gunnar will remain part of the Liverpool community and continue to share his knowledge and experience. I thank Gunnar for his years of service and wish him every happiness and success in his new job role.
