I acknowledge the invaluable contributions of Gunnar Hardy, the outgoing unit commander of the Liverpool SES. Gunnar's unwavering dedication and leadership at the Liverpool SES unit are deserving of the highest respect and recognition. Over the years, he has worked tirelessly to safeguard the community, supporting the vital work of SES volunteers through floods, fires and other important emergencies. On 20 May, I was honoured to attend the weekly muster with my good friend the member for Liverpool where Gunnar's departure was announced to the unit. The event was also the perfect opportunity to celebrate the incredible work the SES does through WOW Day and National Volunteer Week. On behalf of the Leppington community, I extend my deepest thanks to Gunnar for his service and dedication. He will go on to work in a different unit in the SES. I thank him for everything he has done, and I thank the Liverpool SES for its work during the recent floods.
