Last Saturday 14 October I had the immense pleasure of attending the 2023 Fiji Day celebrations at Woodward Park in Liverpool. The festival took place over two days, and by the time I got there on Saturday afternoon it was packed with thousands and thousands of spectators and participants. Stores celebrated the best of Fijian culture—the food, the dance, the music and the clothing—and it was a pleasure to be there. Also in attendance were my colleagues the member for Oatley, the member for Liverpool and the member for Holsworthy. Like many other times when we have held this festival, we had a visitor from the Fijian Parliament, Minister Sashi Kiran. I thank Sashi and all the organisers, volunteers, store holders and performers for a wonderful festival.
