With Popa having selected his 26‑man squad, there are only a few more tantalising sleeps until the 2026 FIFA World Cup officially kicks off. It will be a tough tournament, with matches to be played across three different countries, but our Socceroos will no doubt show their trademark Australian grit and determination. This will be the Socceroos' seventh World Cup—their sixth in a row. The entire nation will be rallying around our great team. The first game is against Türkiye on 13 June, followed by matches against the hosts, the United States, on 19 June and Paraguay on 25 June. I encourage everyone to get down to their local pub or one of the many live sites to cheer on Maty Ryan and the entire squad. I congratulate the Socceroos on what they have achieved thus far and wish them all the very best for what I am sure will be an incredible World Cup.
