I proudly rise to recognise an outstanding young local athlete, Dawn Tui from Westfields Sports High School, who has been selected for the 2026 Australian Schoolgirls Rugby League team. Dawn earned her place among the country's best young rugby league players following an exceptional performance at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships in Coffs Harbour. Her skill and determination were on full display throughout the tournament, where she was also named Player of the Championships in the 18 Years Girls competition. This is an incredible achievement and well-deserved recognition of her talent. Reaching this level does not happen by chance. It takes countless hours of training, discipline and hard work, and Dawn should be incredibly proud of everything she has achieved. She will now have the honour of wearing the green and gold and representing Australia in Port Moresby this October. Congratulations to Dawn, her family, coaches and everyone who has supported her journey. I wish her every success representing Australia on a national level.
