It was a pleasure to join the Greater Cumberland Business Chamber for its end-of-year celebrations on 11 December at Wenty Leagues Club, marking another strong year for local business. Since its beginnings as the Merrylands Chamber in 2011, the organisation has grown alongside the community, reflecting the cultural diversity and entrepreneurial spirit of our region. The Chamber has become a driving force for economic growth, focused not just on connections but on creating real opportunities for businesses to learn, collaborate, and give back. Its support for major initiatives such as the Global Business Meet and practical programs like Business Beyond Borders, demonstrates a clear commitment to helping businesses succeed beyond local boundaries. The recent sell-out workshop on cross-cultural communication, expertly facilitated by Shazya Khan, offered valuable, hands-on learning through real-world scenarios and group discussion. I thank Immanuel and the Greater Cumberland Business Chamber team for their leadership and dedication. Their work continues to empower businesses with the confidence and tools to thrive.
