On 23 January I had the immense pleasure of attending the Australia Day and Chinese New Year dinner celebration hosted by the Chinese Association of Greater Western Sydney. It was a very special event that brought us all together to reflect on what makes our community so special. Celebrating Australia Day alongside Chinese New Year was a powerful reminder of the strength of our multicultural nation. It highlighted how shared celebrations create connection, understanding and a sense of belonging. The traditions and values that communities from all backgrounds bring to Australia is what makes our area such an amazing place. Events like this show that our diversity is something to not just acknowledge but also celebrate together. I thank James Chan and everyone else from the Chinese Association of Greater Western Sydney for hosting such a welcoming celebration. Kung hei fat choi!
