On 15 March, BD Community Hub Sydney hosted the 6th Annual Chand Raat Mela in Minto. The organisation has made a remarkable impact since its establishment in 2020. Through cultural programs, community services and fundraising efforts, they've created meaningful opportunities for connection and support within the Bangladeshi-Australian community. This year's mela, now a proud Campbelltown tradition, was the largest Ramadan event in south-west Sydney. With over 100 stalls, vibrant performances, and a rich mix of food, fashion and entertainment, it offered families a place to prepare for Eid while celebrating their cultural identity. Events like this are vital. They create spaces where communities can come together, celebrate shared traditions, and feel a strong sense of belonging. They also open doors for others to engage, learn and appreciate the diversity that strengthens our region.
