It was a pleasure to attend St Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Church's inaugural Gala Dinner at Grand Paradiso Reception in Fairfield on 17 August. With the patronage of Archbishop Amel Nona and collective gathering of the Australian-Chaldean community, the evening was a fantastic celebration of culture and faith. The Gala brought together business owners, professionals, and community leaders not just to connect, but to honour the Chaldean heritage and the vital contributions this community continues to make in Western Sydney and beyond, including in my electorate of Leppington. A special thanks to Father Maher and the Gala Committee, whose hard work and hospitality made the night memorable. It was great to see people both within and beyond the Chaldean community come together in solidarity and celebration. I was grateful to be a part of the first-of-its-kind event, and I look forward to seeing this tradition continue to grow in the years ahead.
