On June 7th, I paid a visit to the President of the Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce, Carlene Cardona. The Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce is a business network, with a goal to further the interests of businesses in the Macarthur region. The chamber boasts a membership of over 150 businesses - both small and big - across the region. It was heartening to hear from Ms Cardona that despite the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses in Campbelltown have not only been able to survive, but thrive. Campbelltown was designated as an LGA of concern during the pandemic and thus, like most of Western Sydney, had to deal with stricter restrictions. The Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce was able to work with other stakeholders during this tumultuous period to ensure the continued survival of businesses during the pandemic. I thank Ms Cardona for her time and look forward to partnering with business organisations throughout my electorate of Leppington into the future.
