Last week I was thrilled to welcome hundreds of new Australian citizens, many from Leppington, at a Citizenship Ceremony in Camden. It was also a pleasure to see the newly elected Mayor of Camden, Ashleigh Cagney, officiate her first Ceremony in the Mayoral chains. It is always a privilege to be a part of welcoming the newest citizens to the community and to witness a major milestone in their lives. Australia is a diverse and inclusive country and there is no exception in Leppington. Our community is built on respect, inclusion and equality. Becoming a citizen is more than just a set of rights and privileges, it provides a sense of belonging and identity. Congratulations to all new conferees. We are proud to have you and look forward to seeing all that you will achieve in the years to come. I am confident you will make immense contributions to our community.
