Last Friday I had the privilege of attending the Camden Art Prize, a prestigious annual competition, exhibition and sale of art now in its forty-sixth year. The event plays an important role in promoting visual arts within the Camden local government area and the broader Macarthur region. The Camden Art Prize has a longstanding tradition of promoting and appreciating art, especially Australian works. For 46 years, it has provided a platform for artists across Australia to showcase and engage with the community. The event is more than just a celebration of local and national talent; it enriches the cultural fabric of our region. I encourage everyone to take the time to explore the incredible artworks on display, including one dedicated to the Minister for the Environment in relation to brumbies—a very controversial piece. I also encourage everyone to support the talented artists who make this event possible.
