As the Macarthur Bulls 118th member, I was excited to visit a Bulls in Schools session during the school holidays. Bulls in schools is a football program offered to primary schools throughout the greater Macarthur region. The program is a fun and engaging program which encourages participation and skill development for children. Targeting years 3-6 with no cost to schools, the sessions are run by Macarthur FC community football coaches who have been trained and endorsed by the club to promote health and wellness in schools through football. Over 20,000 primary school children from across the region have participated in Bulls in Schools with 41% of participants came from a non-English speaking background, while 8% came from an indigenous background. I was happy to hear that sessions are booked out far in advance. Funding will continue for this great initiative through the Minns Labor Government's $8 million election commitment for bulls in schools. It's always great to see election commitments come to fruition and proving their worth to the community.
