On May 6, I attended the 2023 Foundation of Hope Charity Ball hosted by the Autism Advisory and Support Service. The Ball was a great success, raising over $100,000. These funds will go to supporting the AASS in their essential work assisting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families. The AASS is a not-for-profit charity established in 2007 and it was created to empower children and adults with autism and their families through knowledge and support, but most importantly, to positively impact and influence their social and emotional development. The work done by the AASS is incredibly valuable for many in our community. Yet AASS receives no recurrent Government funding, leaving gaps in the funding for essential services. I want to congratulate the AASS team and the founder and CEO, Grace Fava OAM, for their invaluable work they do for our community. I also want to thank all the donors, guests and volunteers for ensuring the event was a major success. I look forward to seeing the huge impact these funds will make Leppington.
