In November last year, I attended the Armenian National Committee of Australia's 50-year anniversary. The motto of the year's celebration was "Honouring Our Past, Securing our Future", encapsulating tribute to both the generations who laid foundations of advocacy for Armenian-Australians and those who continue to today. A fantastic example of this in action, is the organisations 2025 ANC-AU Youth Advocates program, which enables the younger generation to have a voice for their communities concerns. Recently, this youth group visited our Nation's capital with ANC-AU staff and Armenian human rights lawyer Siranush Sahakyan to discuss the freedom of Armenian Hostages imprisoned by Azerbaijan. The gala was an amazing opportunity to engage with the Australian-Armenian community and celebrate decades of public affairs achievements. I thank Michael Kolokossian and everyone from the Armenian National Committee of Australia for their work over the years and for putting this important event together.
