On 11 August I had the pleasure of attending the 35th Serbian folkloric Festival at Bonnyrigg Sports Club. The festival is a mix of traditional dance, food and celebration of the Serbian culture. The Serbian community is a long cherished and integral part of South West Sydney. The festival or "Bonno Fest" as it is colloquially known, has been running for 35 years, having been launched by the Serbian Cultural Youth Group. I want to thank the Serbian community for the opportunity to attend and speak at their festival. With a big shout out to the amazing performances by the Serbian cultural dance groups. I would also like to acknowledge Bonnyrigg Sports Club and President Cedomir Jesic and Ambassador of Serbia Rade Stefanovic for their attendance and strong support for the Serbian diaspora. I also want to thank all the volunteers and sponsors who dedicated their time to make the Festival the success it is each and every year.
