That this House:

(1) Notes the ongoing independent investigation by the Office of Local Government has uncovered alleged widespread dysfunction and maladministration at Liverpool City Council.

(2) Condemns Mayor Ned Mannoun for recent statements undermining public trust and confidence in the investigative process and impartial public administration.

(3) Notes that a public inquiry is necessary to restore public confidence in Council.

(4) Commends the Minister for Local Government and the Office of Local Government for taking appropriate steps to investigate and resolve widespread dysfunction at Council.
