LEPPINGTON WIN BIG IN ACTIVE TRANSPORT INFRASTUCTURE PROJECTS
Leppington is one of the big winners, securing a two active transport infrastructure projects through the NSW Government’s $39.5 million Get NSW Active 2023/24 program.
Walking and bike riding in Leppington is set to become safer and more accessible with a $500,000 investment in 2 local projects:
- Camden Valley Way – Shared path connection along southern side of Camden Valley Way between Guild Avenue and Cowpasture Road.
- Government Road, M7 Cycleway Link – Off-road shared path along southern side of Government Road between Cowpasture Road and M7 Cycleway.
The projects will now be progressed and delivered by Liverpool City Council.
Member for Leppington, Nathan Hagarty, welcomes the projects as a big win for Leppington.
“Leppington is in a rapid growth corridor and it’s great to finally see investment in infrastructure where it is sorely needed.” Mr Hagarty said.
“These projects are common sense improvements that I welcome. I advocated for these upgrades and it’s good to see words put into action in our area.
“When these projects are completed, it will be easier and safer to get around if you are cycling or walking.” Mr Hagarty said.
